Dick Van Dyke, who canceled his first public engagement in months, made a joke about hoping he lives to be 99 years old.
The three-day FanX event, scheduled for September 26–29 in Salt Lake City, had the Mary Poppins actor scheduled to perform. However, the event organizers disclosed that the actor withdrew because “traveling and interacting with thousands of people is more than he is able to do at this time.”.

After his presentation was canceled, the comic, who turns 99 on December 13, made light of his advanced age while being seen out and about in Malibu, California, on Monday.
With the aid of a cane, the actor was seen making his way to his car before his friend assisted him inside.
When a journalist asked the movie icon about his plans for his 99th birthday, he replied, “Just praying that I make it,” before bursting out laughing.

When asked how he was feeling as he made his way to the car, he said, “I’m very old,” and then he started laughing once more.
At the Creative Arts Emmy Awards earlier this month, Van Dyke made his final appearance in public and made light of the fact that he is still “looking for work” before turning 99.

During his award acceptance speech, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang actor looked around the room and quipped, “If anybody has a job, I’m looking for work too.”
He also had a message for young people trying to make it big in the industry, saying they would have to “go through tough times and lots of auditions,” but they would have to “stick to it.”.

His 52-year-old wife, Arlene Silver, who served as his producer for the Emmy-winning program, also joined him on stage.
In his victory speech, he mentioned his wife, saying, “You may think of the word nepotism, and I would understand it, the young lady who got this award.”
any”But this lady got the job all by herself as producer of the Dick Van Dyke special because she knows me inside and out, and knows how I work, and don’t take no sass from anybody.”
