New Delhi: Security has been tightened in several areas of the national capital after a bomb threat email was received at at least 100 schools in Delhi and the national capital. Police said as of now the bomb threat appears to be a rumor, but they have tightened security at all metro stations, railway stations, bus stands, and markets. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railway) KPS Malhotra said, “We have tightened security at every station. We have alerted our personnel and asked them to keep a close watch on any suspicious activity.” A senior security official said a general advisory has been issued across the Delhi Metro network, and CISF personnel have been asked to be extra vigilant.

Police say that initial investigation has revealed that the threatening email to the schools was sent from Russia. Security agencies became alert after receiving bomb threats in Delhi schools early in the morning.

News agency ANI has quoted sources as saying that the email ID from which the bomb threat letter has been sent to schools in Delhi NCR is savariim@mail.ru. Investigation so far has revealed that ‘Savarim’ (clashing swords) is an Arabic word that has been used by the Islamic State to spread Islamic propaganda since 2014. Delhi Police is investigating whether any organization is behind these threatening emails.
The LG said that as soon as the news reached the schools, the police was immediately informed about it. The search operation is going on. Dog squad and bomb disposal squad teams are also present. I want to assure the public that Delhi Police is fully alert and we will try to ensure that no untoward incident happens. The criminals will not be spared.
Union Home Ministry: There is no need to panic:
Regarding the threatening mail sent to some schools in Delhi, MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) says that there is no need to panic. It appears to be a fake call. Delhi Police and security agencies are taking necessary steps as per protocol.
As soon as the news of threats spread, the Directorate of Education of the Delhi Government issued a statement saying that today some schools in Delhi received false calls and mails about bombs, but the Delhi Police did not find anything suspicious anywhere. All our students and teachers are safe. Everyone is requested not to panic. To provide relief to the parents, if their guardians had reached the school, then the students were allowed to leave the school.

The email also threatened attacks on airports and industry groups.
A case of threat of attack on various airports and terminals of the country has come to light. This threat was given by an organization named ‘Terrorizers 111’. This threat was given by the organization to many people through email. After which security was tightened at all the airports and terminals of the country. Top cyber security and IT agencies got busy in tracing the source of the suspicious email. According to media reports, the suspicious email was sent at around 9.30 am on Monday. In which an attack was also claimed on Nagpur airport. After which Nagpur city police commissioner Ravindra Singhal and his team immediately reached the airport and alerted top officials. Explosion detection and explosive defusing teams were deployed. Apart from Nagpur, bomb threats were also given at Jaipur and Goa airports. According to the Times of India report, the email said that ‘We will ensure that blood is scattered everywhere and we want to kill as many people as possible.’ It was said in the email that an organization named Terrorizers 111 is behind this. It was also claimed that bombs were placed in some airplanes.
