The forward scored in the semi-finals of the Concacaf Nations League.
In the Concacaf Nations League Semifinals, Julián Quiñones made history by scoring Mexico’s second goal in a 3-0 victory over Panama. Well, it turned out to be his first goal with the tricolor jacket.
The good moment of the América forwards also bears fruit in the Mexican National Team, as it was Henry Martín who assisted Julián Quiñones in the 43rd minute, when the naturalized forward found a space, cut inside the area, and scored 2-0. The play was reviewed in the VAR for a possible offside, but in the end it was awarded to the tricolor attacker.
Before the 40th minute, Edson Álvarez had opened the scoring with a header inside the area after a service from Luis Gerardo Chávez, who had taken a free kick.
Julián Quiñones left the field of play at 58′, applauded by the fans who gathered at the AT&T Stadium. His place was taken by Hirving Lozano, who could not score despite having a clear option in the 65th minute.
Fortunately for Chucky, the one who did score 3-0 was Orbelín Pineda, just two minutes later, and in this way he sealed the score with which Mexico advanced to the Final of the Nations League, where it will face the United States, which defeated Jamaica by comeback in their corresponding semifinal match.
🗣️“Me da gusto por Julián. Soy partidario de que este tipo de naturalizados siempre suman”, Layún.
