During this, they also met French President Emmanuel Macron. After being re-elected as an IOC member, Nita said, “I am very honored to be re-elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee. I would like to thank President (Thomas) Bach and all my colleagues at the IOC for their trust and confidence in me.”
She said, “Being re-elected (a member) is not only a personal achievement but also a recognition of India’s growing influence in the global sports arena. I share this moment of joy and pride with every Indian and look forward to continuing our efforts to strengthen the Olympic movement in India and around the world.” Nita Ambani was first inducted into this prestigious body during the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in 2016. She is the first Indian woman to be inducted into the IOC. 117 players from India have participated in the Paris Olympics. These include 70 men and 47 women. The Indian team will participate in 16 sports.
