Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is reportedly planning to introduce 3 new SUVs in India within the next 18 months. One of these models is an all-new electric SUV based on the Maruti Suzuki eVX, which is scheduled to be launched in the latter half of 2025. This electric SUV is expected to offer a driving range of up to 550 km. Before the launch of the electric SUV, two hybrid SUVs are also expected to be launched. With these new SUVs, TKM aims to broaden its appeal in the Indian market, offering a mix of conventional and zero-emission models to cater to a wide range of customers. Here we bring you all the key details
Toyota Electric SUV:
Toyota’s first electrified SUV is expected to be launched in the second half of 2025, drawing design inspiration from the Urban SUV Concept unveiled last year. This new electric vehicle will share a lot with the Maruti Suzuki eVX, including the underlying platform, a derivative of the 27PL. Inside, this electrified SUV will be packed with a variety of features and technologies, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Toyota Fortuner Mild Hybrid:
The upcoming mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) variant of Toyota’s Fortuner is expected to feature a 48-volt mild hybrid system. This technology helps enhance the performance of the existing GD series diesel engine by providing additional power and torque, especially during acceleration and low-speed driving. Additionally, the 48-volt system also helps reduce emissions and increase fuel efficiency.
While specific launch details of the mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) version of the Toyota Fortuner are not yet revealed, it is expected to be introduced either later this year or in early 2025.
7-Seater Toyota Hyrider:

The 7-seater version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hider will arrive in early or mid-2025. It is also expected to compete with other large three-row SUVs like the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar. It will get cosmetic improvements and new features to make it look different from the standard model. However, the existing 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol and 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol engines will continue.
